Name
The Truck Parking Shortage in the US
Description

Truck parking for drivers across the US has grown into a pervasive problem, averaging nearly an hour to find parking on a daily basis. This results in thousands of dollars per driver, per year, wasted looking for suitable parking. How did the US get in this situation? There are several worthwhile solutions to the issue like taxpayer dollars building free parking, the private sector development of paid parking and leveraging property owner's existing space.

Learning Objectives for This Session:

  1. Educating the full scope of the problem with truck parking in the US
  2. Better understanding the solutions/future of truck parking and why solving it is so important.
  3. Identifying how you can you help (offering up your own yards for other drivers, reimbursing company drivers for parking, etc.)
